Deep in the forest, Mae Hang Valley is largely undisturbed, and tea here expresses a faint honey fragrance that, with aging, gives a mellow character. We visited Mae Hang this year to produce wild tea, and fell in love with this soft and yet complex character of this red tea. This batch was produced by a local tea master in his workshop, and was one of his earliest productions of red tea.
Brewing recommendations:
2.5g / 100ml water
Slightly under boiling temperature 90-95 C
Pour carefully to not agitate the leaves.
Short steeps are recommended.
